The Lull Before the Storm!

In the December issue of Mobile Display Report, we have our usual wrap up of industry news with commentary and analysis on the entire smaller-sized display solutions ecosystem.  Was there anything really, really hot to report this month?   Not especially, because most companies are waiting for the "storm" of CES, Las Vegas, January 7-10, to introduce new products and technologies.

Nevertheless, we certainly found some good stuff from the multiple-dozens of sources we scan each day, plus the visits we made with customers and phone/email dialogs.  This includes insights into the machinations within the OLED industry, some innovative display-based teaching tools for Brazil and head-mounted displays to serve the simulation industry.  As usual, we have new stories on LEDs, lasers and the display systems these are enabling, plus updates on a number of the alternative displays that are rapidly maturing to serve a host of needs not well served by LCDs.    We even have an in-depth story on two US companies that are ruggedizing and augmenting standard LCD panels to create custom display solutions.  The full table of contents is shown below.

So, why should you consider subscribing to our monthly industry reports when there are lots of free news sources on the web today?  Good question!  In a word, Insight Media's value proposition is perspective.  Since we offer a monthly analysis of the industry, this time frame allows us to sit back, look at developments and try to understand the implications.  This means we can review multiple sources of information, contact companies to get further details and provide insight to give you a deeper understanding of any news story.  Further, the analysts who write these news stories are seasoned experts in the industry.  They have the relationships and the knowledge to ask the right questions - and they provide analysis and commentary like few others in the industry.  And, we dig up exclusive news items and bring them to your attention.

Our overall mission is to help our readers understand where the display industry is headed - to know the technologies, markets, business deals or applications that will create new opportunities.  Informed readers are in a position to evaluate and potentially take advantage of opportunities to advance their businesses.  This is how we approach our analysis and reporting on the display industry ecosystem and why we get such positive feedback on this effort.
