3D Content Creation Course Offered @ the 3D Entertainment Summit

Insight Media University (www.imuniversity.info), a neutral and impartial source for training and education, will be offering a series of courses at the 3D Entertainment Summit, Sept. 19-22 in Los Angeles. One of these courses is titled: Methods and Challenges for Content Creation for Stereoscopic Displays.

Course Description: Cameras, camcorders and many mobile platforms now offer 3D capture capabilities. This is allowing the presentation of user-generated 3D content on glasses-free displays in the product, or on larger glasses-based 3D display platforms. User-generated content has the potential to create excitement around 3D, but it is also likely to produce a lot of bad 3D content. This course will provide background on the types, operation of, and Pros/Cons of various consumer 3D capture options. We will also discuss trends in ways to improve the 3D capture methods to improve the 3D experience.

Note: this is an intermediate level course and assumes the attendee has a solid understanding of 3D human vision and 3D human factor issues. The prerequisite course, “Basics of Stereo Vision and 3D Human Factors: the most important aspect of the 3D experience”, is also offered if needed.
