Insight Media Releases Database of 3D Products

Insight Media (www.insightmedia.info), a leader in tracking and analyzing the 3D ecosystem, has released a new product: the 3D Product Database. This database tracks 15 different product categories providing specifications, product availability and U.S. pricing.

3D product categories tracked in the database include:

3D Consumer Cameras
3D Consumer Camcorders
3D All-in-one PCs
3D Laptops
3D Monitors
3D TVs
3D Portable TVs
3D Home Theater Projectors
3D Digital Picture Frames
3D Personal Media Players
3D Tablets
3D Game Consoles
3D Blu-ray Discs
3D Blu-ray Players

Most databases have over 40 fields of sortable data – some up to 65 fields, covering product specs, features, descriptions, links and pricing from a number of sources. U.S. availability was determined by a Google search. Discontinued, coming soon and non-U.S. based products are listed too. A rigorous update procedure will keep these databases fresh.

Some databases have many products (3DTV has 375 entries and Home Theater Projectors has 44 listed products). Other product categories are just emerging (3D consoles has one entry, while consumer video camcorders has 24 listed products).

“We believe this is the most complete and up-to-date database of 3D products available anywhere today, although it will never be possible to fill in every field for every product,” notes Chris Chinnock, President of Insight Media. “We learned a lot in developing these databases and believe others will find the ability to sort and analyze the data to be very valuable.”

The full set of databases is delivered as a series of spreadsheets for $1,000. Updates are available to database customers for $300. A sample of the databases is available upon request.
