3D@Home Consortium Foundation Meeting
April 15 ~ Sahara Las Vegas Hotel

You are invited to attend the 3D@Home Consortium Formation Announcement Meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in the Golden Room at the Sahara Las Vegas Hotel. Starting with breakfast at 7:30 AM, the formal meeting will run from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM. Please mark the time and date now!

The meeting will announce and introduce the founding members of the Consortium, explain the overall mission and objectives and provide a forum to answer questions about membership and benefits for potential Consortium members.

The 3D@Home Consortium intends to quickly begin fulfilling its mission of ensuring consumers a high-quality 3D viewing experience while facilitating communication among the industry players to foster a healthy and vibrant market. Several months of working with industry to define the scope of the 3D@Home Consortium have provided the coordinators from Insight Media and USDC with a workable agenda for the organization.

The Consortium will not be a standards body, but will act to facilitate communication of needs and build consensus among key stakeholders to take to the relevant standards bodies. High priority items such as agreeing on file formats and distribution methods for 3D content will be one of the first tasks taken up by the Consortium. The Consortium will function through its structure of Steering Teams, Project Teams and the Board of Directors. Insight Media and USDC will provide daily management of the group, as well as develop news distribution services, educational content and industry reports. The four Steering Teams are:

ST1 - 3D Content Creation/Production
ST2 - 3D Content Storage/Transmission/Distribution
ST3 - 3D Promotion
ST4 - 3D Displays

The 3D@Home Consortium offers three membership levels, each with varying benefits:

Basic Member - $5K/year
Leadership Member - $15K/year
Board Member - $30K/year

And, if you join the 3D@Home Consortium prior to April 11th, we will include your company as a Founding member in the press announcement issued at the formation meeting.

It's short walking distance from the Sahara Hotel to the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Sahara is the final stop on the northern end of the Monorail line.
